Privacy Policy
The Paristamen Charity is committed to protecting the privacy of everyone whose personal data we hold. We endeavour to keep information securely and only to use it as follows.
- We naturally hold personal data on our charity trustees for the purposes of trustee communications and compliance with charity law. The names of our trustees are publicly available on this website, in our Annual Reports and Accounts, and will shortly be available from the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR).
- We also hold data on donors to the charity (trustees and other donors): details may be shared with HMRC in order to make Gift Aid claims but will not be used for any other purpose.
- We do not make grants to individuals, so all our information we receive and hold in connection with grant applications and awards relates primarily to the charitable organisation applying to us. Our application form asks for a named contact person with all grant applications, but this is used solely for communication about the application, and for any grant award, and any follow up queries: it will not be shared with third parties except when we are required to do so for legal purposes. Grant awards will be published as required by the law, but such publication will only show the name of the receipient charity, the amount awarded and the approximate date.
- We do not encourage the inclusion of personal data in grant applications regarding identifiable service users: where it is necessary to mention a service user we would encourage the use of a pseudonym. Nevertheless it is our policy to treat grant applications in confidence, solely for use by the Paristamen charity trustees. (Note: This does not apply to a charity’s Annual Report and Accounts submitted with a grant application, as this is a public document.)
- All data we hold (including personal data as above) may be shared in confidence with our independent examiner in order to permit to scrutiny of our accounts and accounting records in accordance with charity law.
